Much has been said about the former Umno president Tun Dr M's announcement to quit Umno. Is this the end of chapter or a new beginning? Infact, Dr M's intention to get out from UMNO should not have surprised anyone. The question is why only now? He should have left UMNO long ago enjoying his golden age. Despite his age he still shows sharpness and able to give critics towards his foes. What is his polictical tactics this time ? Dr M said he will only rejoin the party when Pak Lah steps down as Umno president. Abdullah has so far refused all calls for him to step down, and said he would defend his presidency in the party polls in December. Sanusi Junid, who is a former Kedah Mentri Besar, also quit the party on Monday.
Dr M also urged other Umno members and Cabinet members to quit. How many members will follow suit? Will Mukriz follow his father's footsteps as well?
I don't think the matter will rest easy. I think the 'war of the worlds' are getting more intense. Do you think that there's a hidden agenda behind Dr M's legacy? I guess only time will reveal everything. Let's just stand aside and watch!
